Working from our Nun’s Island office and reporting to the VP of Technology, the Director/Manager of QA is responsible for the overall quality assurance for all projects and products related to payment processing, including the delivery of POS devices and EMV certification projects.

In your role you will be responsible for :


Project management and planning


  • Projects are technical in nature, and the position centers around the management of new or modified payment solutions being introduced on the PayFacto systems (Payment Gateway, Payment Switch, and Payment Terminals);
  • Assess the risks associated with the development aspects of each solution / project and define approach for manual versus automation testing and institute change within the team. Determine component and stub testing framework and approach;
  • Help implement automation and other testing strategies across the team;
  • Plan testing and resources to ensure adequate automated test coverage for all applications in each release;
  • Overall project management – resource scheduling, management of milestones and deliverables, change management;
  • Manage project scope, quality and time constraints within an environment where priorities & scope can frequently change;
  • Identify and manage project risks to mitigate or minimize impact to project objectives;
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and partners to deliver projects as efficiently as possible, ensuring clear requirements are presented;




  • Effectively manage a team of QA analysts EMV Certification Analysts;
  • Be an active, engaged partner in collaborating with our development teams, architects and project managers;
  • Remove roadblocks for the team and escalate critical or blocking issues when necessary and drive them to closure;
  • Accountable for the successful delivery (time and budget) of all projects the team is engaged in;
  • Manage resources and workload within the certification team;
  • Use creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills to resolve any conflicts or challenges;


Provide expertise and radiate knowledge


  • Communicate complex technical solutions in clear, concise and easily readable format to both technical and non-technical personnel;
  • Ensure solutions correspond to the PayFacto specifications as well as operating rules and regulations specified by the various payment networks (i.e. Interac, MasterCard, Visa, EMVCO, PCI etc….);
  • Communicate milestones and updates to management and stakeholders by maintaining and updating weekly status reports;


Essential Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Project Management (mandatory);
  • People management (mandatory);
  • Payment Industry knowledge (asset);
  • Expertise with test card tools such Collis Brand Test tool, Galitt Kanest-ICC, Smart Spy Tool, FIME test cards (Subset Field, interoperability, MTIP, VISA ADVT) (asset);
  • Device certifications, key injection processes and support (asset);
  • Professional attitude with diplomacy and tact, ability to work with various levels inside and outside of the organization;
  • Ability to work with internal and external clients and manage expectations;
  • Ability to sort out priorities and competing demands;
  • Ability to handle a demanding workload and dynamic changes in priorities;
  • Organizational skills, creativity, team player, multitasker, able to work with ambiguity and high attention to detail;
  • Payment host, networking concepts, e-commerce;
  • Knowledge of testing automation tools (mandatory);
  • Strong understanding of overall testing methodologies and tools;
  • Strong exposure to the payment industry (asset);
  • Proficient in multiple operating systems: Linux, Windows, HPE NonStop (asset);
  • Familiar with continuous integration tools like Jenkins (asset);
  • Familiar with source control systems like GIT (asset);
  • Ability to identify the right testing approach for the SDLC based on project characteristics, e.g. agile, iterative, waterfall;
  • Bilingual (French / English).
