DevOps Developer

Job description

Working from our Nun’s Island office and reporting to the Development Director, the DevOps Developer will work closely with the development team on the microservice platform to increase development efficiency through automation and CI/CD. This includes solving technical problems, monitoring, maintaining and improving our production processes, and leveraging your DevOps expertise to help evolve and scale the microservice platform.

 

DevOps

  • Design and deploy, in an Agile environment, assets and code that will help deploy, test, monitor and maintain components and services for our service platforms
  • Establish standards and repeatable processes for managing change across environments, taking advantage of innovative cloud technologies, DevOps tools and practices
  • Build tools and automation that eliminate repetitive tasks
  • Apply knowledge of various programming/scripting languages, support best practices and configuration management to support and maintain services

 

Execution

  • Document build and release procedures
  • Deploy software components and services across environments
  • Monitor production services
  • Build environments and tooling to release new components

Essential Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a DevOps role
  • Strong Micro-Service architecture experience
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with AWS configuration (e.g. Cloud Formation, CDK)
  • Expert level familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, Bitbucket
  • Advanced scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Nagios, OpsGenie)
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Experience with release, change and configuration management.
  • Excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains
  • You are a solid team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You enjoy multi-tasking and can work well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications, Education or Certifications:

  • You have College or University level education or equivalent training and experience
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with Liquibase
  • Experience with service discovery infrastructure
